Voice-based Health Diagnosis
In a few years, voice samples can help doctors diagnose their patients accurately especially when the patient is uncooperative or embarrassed about sharing the medical condition. Researchers are currently integrating health diagnosis through voice samples with smartphones and other wearable devices to reduce the cost of the technology. They use the technology to study the detection of mental disorders, which cannot be diagnosed through blood tests, and coronary artery disease, the most common type of heart disease. The use of technology starts with recording short voice samples from the patient. Machine learning is then used to detect the presence of disease from the voice samples collected. The possibility of faking vocal characteristics is a major problem that researchers face with this technology as it will lead to unreliable results. Privacy and security concerns are also raised with this technology because of the collection of voice samples. But, it is also a possibility that accurate and low cost health diagnosis can be done through voice samples in the future. Want to know more about this awesome technology? Follow this Link!
