Scientists at Disney Research have come up with a solution that has been a fantasy for every smartphone users until now. They created a room that can wirelessly charge several electronic devices at a time. "Wireless power delivery has the potential to seamlessly power our electrical devices as easily as data is transmitted through the air," the team explains. The set-up of the room consists of a copper pipe in the middle of the room and walls built with specialized aluminum panels running from the floor to the ceiling in order to facilitate a constant supply of power. There are 15 capacitors in the middle of the copper pipe, which are connected to a generator outside the room to produce a uniform magnetic field. Tests in the prototype living room have confirmed that it can safely deliver around 1,900 watts of energy, with an efficiency level of 40 to 95 percent, depending on where the object is. Even though this technology is still in early development and isn’t ready for market, this could solve the problems that we everyday people face with using cords in a cool way.
