A a nerve-simulating headphones has been present to the public at Las Vegas' Consumer Electronics Show called Nervana. It focuses on our vagus nerve in which this nerve is connected from the brainstem to the abdomen therefore enabling it to connect to all major organs as well. The signals produced by the device also affects a region of our brain that releases dopamines. Dopamine is a chemical that gives us a feeling of pleasure and alter our mood.Vagus nerve stimulation has been used in psychological tests for depression and produced good results hence this device has its chance of being a reality. Currently, the device have yet to produce evidence that it actually opts dopamine production. However, there are risks playing with dopamines. It is actually linked to movement, cognition, motivation, and addiction but the developers stated that there are no risks of oversimulation.Nervana is no doubt in parallel with virtual reality innovation.
