5D Eternal Data Chip

5D Eternal Data Chip

Since 2013, a new type of technology that stores data was invented by a team at the University of Southampton's Optoelectronics Research Centre (ORC) that is about the size of a Contact Lens. This Eternal 5D Data Chip can record a 300 kilobyte copy of a text file according to their abstract. It is called 5D Eternal Data Chip because the data was assumed to have been stored in five dimensions. The Three Dimensional Position of the data dot within the silica glass chip was recorded and provided with two additional dimensions due to the intensity of the wave pattern or "Polarity". Based on their research, they also recorded several large documents all in 5 Dimensions. The most interesting Document they recorded is Sir Isaac Newton's "Opticks" which analyzes the fundamental nature of light with prisms and lenses, the diffraction of light by closely spaced sheets of glass and behaviour of color. The Chips would most likely outlast our own species due to their stability for 1000 degress celcius and can survive up to 13.8 billion years. Optoelectronics Research Centre\'s Professor Peter Kazansky said that the created technology to preserve documents and information can secure the last evidence of our civilization and all the mankind will learn will never be forgotten.Want to know more about this awesome device?
